Ledgers are large flat pieces of granite that can cover ¼, ½, ¾, or a full grave. These are typically four to six inches thick and have a Polished Face Top (PFT). The sides can be either rock pitch or sawn finish. Some cemeteries do not allow ledgers that are above ground level or have monuments placed on top of the ledger.
